Overwatch 2 Introduces 6v6 Experimental Mode with Exciting Balance Changes

Blizzard Entertainment is bringing back the classic 6v6 team composition in Overwatch 2 with a limited-time experimental mode. The 6v6 Role Queue Experiment reintroduces the beloved two-tank, two-damage, two-support setup from the original Overwatch for a three-week period. Alongside this return, players can expect significant adjustments, especially for tank heroes. Notable changes include the removal of Roadhog’s Pig Pen ability, the tweaking of Reinhardt’s dual-charge Fire Strikes, and the disabling of Wrecking Ball’s ally-shield-sharing capability.

Other Changes

It is not just tanks receiving updates. Both damage and support heroes are also getting tailored adjustments during the experiment. Damage heroes will see slight boosts in their offensive power, while support heroes will offer improved healing output. To make the most of this limited-time mode, players are encouraged to review the detailed list of changes and adapt their strategies accordingly.

Blizzard is also spicing things up with its Winter Wonderland event, rewarding players with three free skins for participating in games. Completing three matches will unlock the Merry Marionette Echo Legendary Skin. Playing six games earns Cassidy’s cozy sweater Legendary skin and highlight intro, while nine games will grant Widowmaker’s chic winter Legendary skin and highlight intro.

The 6v6 Role Queue Experiment is available from Dec. 17 to Jan. 6, 2025. For the full list of updates, you can check out the official Patch Notes here. Stay updated by following Esports-news.info for more insights and breaking news.
