Nouns are no longer a part of the Dota 2 Scene

North America is in its worst state yet and now that Nouns Esports are no longer a part of the professional scene, things are getting even worse.

Nouns Esports was among the best North American Dota 2 organizations for years and competed against other top-tier squads. Although it couldn’t win any big events, the squad was consistently among the best-performing teams. Sadly, we won’t see it in action anymore because the organization departed Dota 2.

The reasons

According to the announcement from Nouns, there is no specific reason why the organization quit Dota 2. However, according to their statement, Dota 2 is as demanding as it is rewarding, which most likely indicates that the organization has certain problems

We suspect that the lack of results is one of the big reasons for the organization’s decision. Sure, nouns did fairly well in most events, but the team was unable to win any big competition. This, combined with the fact that the North American Dota 2 region is dead, resulted in the team’s decision to quit.

What’s happening with the roster?

The team’s roster is now free agents since Nouns will no longer be in Dota 2. Therefore, they will have to find new teams to be a part of. Speaking of players, this is what the roster looked like:

  • Yuma “Yuma” Langlet
  • Philipp “Copy” Bühler
  • Nicolas “Gunnar” Lopez
  • Rodrigo “Lelis” Santos
  • Tal “Fly” Aizik

Considering several big roster changes in the last couple of days, we expect some of these players to find a new team quickly. The bad news is that the North American Dota 2 scene is in a very bad spot right now because there are no big teams left. Considering the situation, we wouldn’t be surprised if some of the organizations decide to get the complete roster and move to NA.

Nouns and their Dota 2 Journey

In case you may have forgotten, nouns became a part of the professional Dota 2 scene in 2022. During that time, the organization decided to acquire the roster of 4 Zoomers. Despite the lack of success at first, nouns slowly became among the most recognizable names in North America.

After missing TI in 2022, the team did everything possible to shine in 2023. Nouns won the qualifiers in 2023, where they also delivered several surprising results. Unfortunately, the team could not deal with Azure Ray and then lost to Gaimin Gladiators in the LB.

The next few months were very interesting for nouns because they became North America’s best Dota 2 team. This happened after Shopify Rebellion’s decision to stop competing in the region. Unfortunately, this did not help the team achieve any good results.

Nouns participated in many events but weren’t able to compete effectively against the best in the world. They did, however, eventually reach TI 2024 and even delivered some interesting results. Sadly, they weren’t enough for the squad to win.

Now that nouns are no longer a part of the North American Dota 2 scene, the region does not have any big players yet. We at esports-news.info keep an eye on it and see what’s going to happen in the future.
