train map in CS2

Train is back in Counter-Strike 2

More than 10 days after we announced that Train might be coming back to Counter-Strike 2, this finally happened.  It’s been more than 3 years since the map was removed from the map pool, and it is finally here.

CS2 Train – The Design

Similar to all other CS2 maps, Train also received big graphic improvements. Unlike some of them, however, the changes here are more noticeable.

Starting with the graphic improvements, the lighting is much better than before. The same is true for the detailed environment and the new colors, which look much more vibrant.

Players who explore Counter-Strike 2 Train will be amazed by the new rain effects and all of the surfaces. The map even has some small rivers, which make it even more interesting.

Counter-Strike 2 Train Gameplay Changes

Aside from the new design elements in CS2 train, the map also gets a lot of gameplay changes. Perhaps the most important ones are related to the two bomb sites. They look a lot more “open” than before, making them easier to get used to if you are a new player. Nevertheless, they also have their unique angles, and players will have to get used to them.

In addition to that, Valve also made several big changes, such as Heaven’s alcove above the A site and its removal. You can still find the popular Pop Dog graffiti, but the thing itself is a longer passageway.

Interesting information about CS2 Train

Now that the map is back, CS2 players will be eager to try it. Some of you may not know, but de_train is actually one of the original maps in Counter-Strike, making ot almost 25 years old

People may remember that the map was not that special in terms of how it looked until the changes in Counter-Strike: Source. In fact, this same version was pretty much used in CS:GO until 2014, which was when the train went though new changes.

The other changes

Aside from Train, the most recent CS2 update also brought changes to Overpass following the community’s reaction. Additionally, players have access to two other maps for competitive and casual play. One of them is Basalt, and the other is Edin.

On top of all that, you also have access to two new 2v2 Wingman game modes – Whistle and Palais. You can learn more about the additional changes here, and do not forget to follow esports-news.info for more details.
